March for Immigrants in DC 4/18- Bus from JH!
« on: April 07, 2016, 09:43:29 AM »
Will you join us in Washington D.C to march for immigrants, and the future of this country?

On Monday, April 18th, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for the landmark U.S. v. Texas case that will determine the fate of President Obama's administrative relief, which would help five million immigrants across the nation be protected from deportation and allow them to work legally. Over 250,000 eligible immigrant New Yorkers have waited for more than a year for this sorely-needed relief.

On April 18th, thousands of immigrants across the nation will converge on Washington, DC to demand justice and lift the injunction on administrative relief. Help us make sure New York shows up loud and proud!

You can help in two ways:

Reserve a seat on a Bus! Join hundreds of New Yorkers by clicking here to reserve a seat and call on the highest court of the land to end the politically motivated delays to immigration relief. How We Got Here

In November 2014, President Obama announced he would take executive action to provide administrative relief for immigrants, including Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) and expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). These two initiatives would 5 million immigrants to come forward and apply for protection from deportation and a work permit keeping millions of families together.

In December 2014, Texas and 25 other states filed a lawsuit challenging DAPA and expanded DACA in a federal district court in Texas.

In February 2015, the federal district court in Texas issued a nationwide injunction that halted the implementation of DAPA and expanded DACA. The Obama administration quickly appealed the injunction to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans.

On November 9, 2015, a Fifth Circuit panel issued a decision that affirms the Texas federal district court's order that blocks DAPA and expanded DACA from being implemented.

On November 20, 2015 the Department of Justice filed its petition for a writ of certiorari to the Supreme Court.

On January 19, 2016, the Supreme Court granted certioriari, putting the case on its docket.

The Federal govt lied to us one in 1986 and did not keep their word, why should citizen trust them now?

Furthermore, if they demand "justice"-return to your home country, demand change there and get in the line for a green card. We'd love to have hard working folks walk in the front door, when you lied on the way in it's tough to trust you or your cause.

While I have sympathy for their turmoil illegal is well... illegal, ironically nary a word on that in the release.

Pretty simple Equation GOP wants cheap labor to undermine the US work force the DNC want to use this cause as a glorified voter drive.

Always laugh when pro amnesty pols claim "no human is illegal"

try pitching a tent on the property of anyone named Dromm, Clinton, Gillebrand, Schumer, or Obama and see how quick you'd be arrested for trespassing

In content of the 1986 amnesty by Regan, O'neill and Kennedy:

“In 1986 Senator Kennedy said, ‘This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens.  We will secure the borders henceforth.  We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.’

Fast forward, same issue just now the numbers are b/t 11 and 20 million depending on whom you trust. So we trusted our federal govt and within 30 years the problem grew by a 11 or 20X

jeanette, Sorry to hear that is an admin. nightmare. Hopefully the person who did it was fully prosecuted under the laws as they currently stand, which to my point, is the direct opposite of the below.
