Street Tree Care with JHBG
« on: April 06, 2015, 09:21:25 AM »
Take a walk in the lower 70's soon and see how the smallish group of all age volunteers revived
tree pits in this heavily congested area- 45 tree pits in one day!!! It's a real accomplishment
by a group that covers the whole of Jackson Heights and tries to augment city services to
make our neighborhood better in their backyard and yours. Hats off to these folks. www.jhbg.org

Oh yeah, they also have the NYRP Million Trees FREE Tree Giveaway coming up this weekend. Register soon! As of this writing, there were only 33 trees left to sign on for at:

Trees New York and JHBG will host a tree care workshop, Saturday starting at 10 a.m. sharp.

We will meet on the corner of 80 Street and 37th Avenue (north side,) taking care of tree pits and trees on both sides of the street down to 75th Street. Don’t miss the fun.

This will be a family-friendly event.

What are those mysterious green and purple scribblings on sidewalks around JH???

That mystery will be revealed tomorrow morning as you learn to identify trees at JHBG's Tree LC event.

We will be taking care of JH trees Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. (depending on how quickly we get the work done.) Meet at 84th Street and 37th Avenue (NW corner.) We’ll be working back toward 80th Street.

And we will tell you about those mysterious letters and numbers, too. See you then.
