Safety and Learning for UPK Students
« on: September 23, 2014, 07:05:47 AM »
Every organization is struggling in September to accommodate the tremendous growth of Universal PreK. At 82nd Street Academics, we hired several teachers, assistants, and aides for the new school year. Our Orientation for New Staff class this Thursday will be the largest in our history.

What protects quality at these times? I believe it’s a staff to student ratio of 1:8 or lower. It protects children when one child has to be escorted to the bathroom or when staff take breaks. It allows for grouping of students with similar developmental levels for individualized instruction.

While the Jackson Heights schools are full, 82nd Street Academics has 8 spaces left at Highland Academics in Jamaica. The building is incredible, the class furniture is new, and we have 3 staff per room with 20 students. If you are still looking around, the difference may be worth the drive. Call 718 457 0429 for  pictures of the classrooms.
