JHBG and the New York Restoration Project are offering free trees as part of NYC’s Million Trees program.
We are giving away our first 100 free trees of the season on Saturday March 1,at JH Scraps, JHBG’s community composting center at the southwest corner of 35th Avenue and 69th Street. Tree must be planted in NYC. More details and links are below from the New York Restoration Project.

Available trees include Carolina silverbells, Japanese tree lilacs, dogwoods and native yellowwoods. Sign up online at
http://treegiveaways.com/jhbg to reserve the tree you want, or show up from 11:00am and 1:00pm on March 1st. At least 5 trees of each species will be available first come, first served. Online registration will close at 12pm on Thursday, February 27th.
Please note that trees cannot be planted as street trees, on rooftops or terraces. All trees must be planted in the ground within the 5 boroughs on property you have permission to plant on. Tree planting and care instructions come with your tree. All you need is a place to plant, a shovel and access to water.
