What do you think? Is Sammy's the best halal in the city or in Jackson heights?

I haven't found another chicken and rice guy in jackson heights that is better than Sammy's. And he can give any other cart in the city a run for their money. But his $5 price point, he is definitely the best overall taste for value.

The cart on 74th Street outside the TD Bank I think is the best. We call it the TD Bank cart. My friends had a competition and we even gave them a trophy for it.

I remember reading about that. I need to stop by there and check it out asap.

Gyro King on 37th road has amazing rice over chicken and their mixed kebab "plate" (really a TUB) has 4 kebabs, rice salad for $9 and that addictive mint sauce crack. Easily enough for 2 hungry people.

yeah, Gyro King is amazing. Their chicken is much more seasoned than Sammy's and they have a nice salad bar. I like both though, the combo at Sammy's and chicken at Gyro King. Nothing better than coming home late from a long day at work and stopping at Sammy's outside the subway.

I just noticed this thread and have to agree with Jeff - the cart outside the TD bank on 37th/74th is my favorite by far.

There are two carts outside of TD Bank on 74th Street.  One is on 74th Street outside the bank and the other one is on 37th Ave outside the bank.  Which one is the best.

Best is a subjective term. The one on 74th Street won the trophy. The one on 37th Rd did not place.

Hi JH, I was referring to the one on 37th Ave. outside of the bank.  I haven't tried the guy around the corner on 74th, but I'm going to since Jeff gives him high marks.  I like the guy on 37th because I hate cilantro and he doesn't add it until the end so it's easy for me to ask him to leave it out.  And he has a slightly different spice profile than the others, and also adds peppers sometimes, which I like.  I jokingly call it South Asian paella.

thanks for telling me about the cart on 74th st.  going to try that soon.  I like Sammy's cart but I enjoy Gyro King on 37th rd much more.  been going there for the past 2 months.
