Here's one amusing bit of trivia: Today, as we await the opening of restaurants named "Romeo" and "Julieta" in different parts of the neighborhood, there were once eateries by these names directly across the street from one another in JH.

LOL, both are still pizza places today. Romeo's became Gustosa, then the guy sold it a few years ago to a horrible pizza poace, then a soup style store, and now its Mama Rosa (decent pizza). The guy that ran Gostosa (the old guy, Benny) was actually Romeo, he was there since 1980 or so. I spent much of teenaged years there hanging out, and took my son until at least 2014 or so.
Julietta's was good in the '70s, but in my opinion Romeo took it's swag. It survived on, and it is still a pizza place (the name escapes me, the one across from Foodtown).

that one -- the one across from Foodtown -- is called Due Fratelli. pretty mediocre for delivery/full pies, but they do have a lot of bells-and-whistles slices, if that's your thing. you know, salad slices, greek slices, chicken, bacon and pineapple slices. a decent stromboli, though, and the guys are very nice.
