Title: Jackson Heights Movie Theaters
Post by: jlw611 on June 13, 2017, 12:02:28 PM
I remember seeing great movies in the 50s and 60s at these movies with my friends. Oh the noise, popcorn and matrons.

The Earl on 37th Road just east of Broadway. Renamed the Eagle and now a food court.

many years ago, my then-girlfriend and i decided to check out the Fair, which was advertising sort of weird and kitschy kung fu/horror/culty movies in a small ad in the voice. the second screen was devoted to adult films, but they seemed to delineate between the two. nope. went into the italian horror movie to find .... some pretty vivid stuff going on in the seats.

we asked for, and got, a refund.

I saw The Exorcist at the Fair. Everyone was yelling and making jokes. Then Linda Blair's head did a 360 and the place was silent.
